Style Is What You Pick..

Christmas is over and we are sat snuggled up on the sofa, watching films and in food comas. What a wonderful Christmas its been spent with family and friends. My Christmas stocking was well and truly filled to the tops with goodies.
During the Christmas period I love dressing up and looking smart and this year was no exception. Christmas Eve was spent it with one half of my family 'The Painters'.

Keeping the outfit casual but smart I wore a white shirt with a slogan jumper from ASOS
I love this look. Its so simple but as its Christmas I needed to add a bit of sparkle so what better way? A huge diamante spider broche.

Christmas Day

Adrian and I woke up early and could easily of been more excited then any 5 year olds. Stockings from Santa were opened first and then our stocking to each other followed by the rest of our presents to each other. I must say Adrian really did out do himself this year. A few pieces are going to be worth blogging about. One stocking filler was a Selfie Stick (what I've always wanted) it came in handy through out the day.

Both Adrian and I share the same love of wearing thought out outfits, can't have one of us looking 100% fabulous and the other well.. 10%  If I get clothes for Christmas I try to wear it on Christmas day. Adrian had brought me a classic style shirt which was perfect to match up with my new neck tie from ASOS.

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with all your wishes coming true.

Biting Dogtooth

Christmas is just around the corner and I'm wrapping up warm but keeping it simple. This winter its about roll necks and A Line skirts and its such a simple outfit. It suits all body times and comfortable to wear.
Have a Merry Christmas.

Let the coat do the talking

Its easy to get into a bad habit of wearing all black and who can blame you, its a flattering colour. When wearing black from head to toe you still need to stand out from the crowd and the way to do it? Having a statement coat. This doesn't mean the coat needs to be brightly coloured. A coat which is black can still work, it just needs a good fit and cut.

Lets start with the base layer..
Black Top | Black Jeans | Black Boots

Top - Zara | Belt - Primark | Jeans - New Look | Boots - Vintage

With the simplest of simple layers done, lets look at the coats. I have a real love for the Dogtooth print. Its sophisticated and simple.
The first coat is a vintage number from my nans wardrobe. It originally use to be a dress but with her handy sewing skills she turned it into a coat, so its a one off I'm afraid ladies but I've seen lots of similar coats in this style.
In The Style have a few similar.

Coat number two is more of a oversized cardigan and once again its from my Nans wardrobe but I  found a corker in Zara which isn't on the website! Zara is on point with its style at the moment.

The final coat is last seasons from Zara but with the leather sleeves its still on trend with no look of going out of fashion any time soon. I have found an American website which seem to be doing an exact match Ali Express

Can you believe it a whole post with no pop of colour and its all Black Black Black.

Black the leading colour in fashion.

Survival of the Fittest

Last Saturday I took part in Men's Health Survival of the Fittest. It's a 10km obstacle run. I can not explain how much fun I had. It sounds hard and yes when you have several eight feet walls to climb over, hard is one way to describe it.
We started the race as small team of 3, my godmother, her partner and myself but I soon started to realise you are part of a team of hundreds. Everyone is there to help and encourage you through out the race. Even giving you the odd leg up over the wall, helping you slip down the muddy slopes or cheering you on running through the rivers.

We finished the race under 2 hours, we could of done it quicker but then the fun would of been taken out it. It was a great day seeing all fitness people alike coming together. I'm all ready and training for next years run. If you want a challenge I would recommend it. Get a team together, train and run together. The sooner you enter the cheaper the entry so get in quick.

I'm a survivor, be one with me next year.
